Too Many Kids

This was the first week back to school and I learned a few things this week. I am not ready to do mommy and me class with both my 1 year old and my 3 year old its just really a lot of work for my pregnant self. I am the least patient person when I am dealing with my husband and my children on the same level in a 24 hour period. If I don't get out of this house with out them at least once a day for at least a few minutes heads will role. Its a lot of work to keep the house running and not lose my sanity but I miss my husband and what help he did give when he was home from work.
I can concede to the fact that being pregnant and having to run after 2 small children is not going to be easy and I might have to ask for help. My biggest lesson learned is that I am not going to be perfect at this and I will have to let some of the things I hold dear to me go. It will not kill anyone if we have pancakes for dinner once in a while. Its OK if the laundry only gets done on the weekend when I have a few people in the house to help watch the kids. Its no big deal if I clean late at night and early in the morning when I can put on my headphones and just go at it like a crazy women.
I want to enjoy my time home with my kids and realizing that if I don't take care of me I can't take care of them is a lesson that every mommy has to not only learn but actually put into practice.

Sound Off

Its time again for classes to start and I am in the middle of a scheduling change in my house. Lets just say that things in our little home are very hectic these days. I have class tonight at 7 so I have to be finished with dinner, have the kids bathed and be prepared to sit for two hours with no breaks. My husband started a new schedule today and he had to be at work by 7pm which ment keeping the girls quiet all day and keeping my temper under control while doing so. It was an adventure and I am actually glad the teens where home to help. While dinner is in the oven, I have time to put L1 in the tub and yell at my son for holding the laundry room hostage all day, his clothes have moved into my dryer. Next week we add the kids school schedule into the mix and I hope that I can survive it all. I hope they adjust my husbands schedule or I am going to need to sound proof the house so my hubby can get some rest. Now I am off to finish my long todo list before its time for class. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year?

Its finally time to take down the Christmas decorations and put our ordinary lives back in order. It's one more week until the kids return to the drudgery of school and its time for my husband to start his new job. I will be a solo mommy again with 3 kids to deal with on a daily basis. My preschooler will need to be walked to school everyday and that means the other two get to go along for the ride as well. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and we have no car so this should be loads of fun. It means that the cooking, cleaning, child care and all are resting on my shoulders; did I mention I am also a full time student. I have no fear of facing these task on my own, I know that its going to be a lot of work and I am actually looking forward to having my house back and doing my own thing. Don't get me wrong my husband tried to help out while he was laid off, but it really messed up my daily schedule and now I have the chance to get everything back on track. I am not crazy enough to think that it will be easy to deal with all by myself, but I am happy to give it a try. Its been a long year and I am very glad that it has finally come to an end. 2009 was to say the least a very interesting year, but I hope that 2010 will bring us some stability that we are all in need of.
Maybe this year I might even learn to ask for help...lol. Happy New Year may you have peace, love and friendship in the year to come.
